​An Announcement from First United Methodist Church: 
On behalf of the Staff Parish Relations Committee, we are pleased to announce that Bishop Laura Merrill will be appointing Rev. Jacob Lynn to serve as the next Senior Pastor of First United Methodist Church of Jonesboro, beginning July 1. Jacob is currently the Senior Pastor at Cabot United Methodist Church and has helped move that congregation through a period of restarting and becoming a thriving and growing congregation. Jacob is a northeast Arkansas native. This part of the state has always felt like home for him. Jacob is a graduate of Arkansas State University with both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree. He is also a graduate of St. Paul School of Theology, one of our United Methodist Seminaries. He met his wife Mindy at ASU and they have two children, Jackson (18) and Findley (12).
Pastor Jacob writes, “I am grateful for the faithful ministry of Rev. Michael Roberts at FUMC Jonesboro and wish him every blessing in his retirement. At the same time, I give thanks for the journey we have shared together here at Cabot…I invite you to pray for Cabot United Methodist Church, for First United Methodist Church of Jonesboro, for Rev. Michael Roberts, and for my family and me during this time of transition.
